Protect the people who count on you. Reviewed every year.

I'm Wesley, a life insurance advisor in Vancouver. I help BC families, businesses, and first-time home buyers find coverage that fits.

What would you like to protect?

Start with the goal. We'll find the product after.

  • My home and mortgage

Make sure your family can keep the house if your income stops.

  • Myself and my family's future

Cover childcare, school and everyday costs while they grow up.

  • My business

Keep the business going, and protect partners and key people.

  • My legacy

Leave something behind, tax-efficiently, for the people you choose.

Coverage I can help you with

Four types of cover, in plain language, including what each one is good for and what to keep in mind.

  • Set period

    Term life

Covers you for a set number of years, such as 10, 20 or 30. If you pass away during that time, your family receives a payment that is usually tax-free.

    Good for

Mortgages, young kids, and replacing your income while others depend on it.

    Keep in mind

It is the most affordable way to get a large amount of cover, but it does not build savings. Cover ends when the term does unless you renew, usually at a higher price.

  • Lifelong

    Whole life

Cover that lasts your whole life as long as premiums are paid. Premiums stay level, and the policy builds cash value over time.

    Good for

Leaving a legacy, estate planning, and covering final expenses or taxes.

    Keep in mind

It costs more than term for the same amount of cover, and the cash value grows slowly.

  • Lifelong, flexible

    Universal life

Lifelong cover with a savings side you can adjust. You choose how part of your premium is invested and can change payments within limits.

    Good for

People who want flexibility, tax-sheltered growth, or a tool for business and estate planning.

    Keep in mind

It is more complex, and the cash value rises and falls with the investments you choose.

  • While you're living

    Critical illness

Pays a lump sum if you're diagnosed with a serious illness named in your policy, such as cancer, heart attack or stroke. You use it however you need.

    Good for

Replacing income during recovery, covering treatment costs, and keeping up with the mortgage.

    Keep in mind

Only the illnesses named in the policy are covered, and you usually need to survive a short waiting period after diagnosis.

Costs, eligibility and policy terms vary by insurer and by your health and situation. I will walk you through the details, including exclusions, before you decide.

What working with me looks like

  • A free intro call. About 30 minutes to talk about your situation. No forms, no pressure.
  • I listen first, then explain. I learn what you are protecting before making any recommendations, and explain the options in plain language.
  • You get a clear recommendation. I will evaluate all the major insurers to find a suitable policy that fits your needs. What I would suggest, why, and what it costs, including the trade-offs.
  • I am here to build life-long relationships with my clients.

Questions people ask first

Nothing. It's a chance to ask questions and see whether we're a good fit.

I'll ask about your family, income, debts and goals, then explain the options that fit. You don't have to decide anything on the call.

It depends on your income, debts and dependants. We'll work through it together in plain numbers.

Not always. If someone relies on your income or you have debts to cover, it's worth considering, and it's often cheapest when you're younger and healthier. If neither applies, you may be able to wait.

It's a good start, but group coverage usually ends when you leave the job and is often less than people need. We can look at what you have and find any gaps.

Term covers you for a set period, such as 10, 20 or 30 years, and usually costs less. Permanent insurance, like whole or universal life, is designed to last your whole life and can build cash value. See the coverage section above for more.

It depends on the insurer, the amount of coverage and your age. Some policies need an exam or health questions and some don't. I'll tell you what to expect before you apply.

Many people with health conditions can still get coverage, though the price or the insurer may differ. I'll tell you what's realistic, and I'll always help you answer the application honestly.

It depends on your age, health, the type of policy and the amount of coverage. Once I know a bit about you, I can show you real quotes so you can compare.

Insurers pay me a commission when a policy is issued, so you don't pay me directly for advice. I'll always explain how a recommendation affects what I earn, and I'm happy to answer questions about it.

We review it every year, and any time something changes, like a new job, a child or a home purchase, so your coverage keeps up with your life.
